How about: Karpal's recent crabbing trip.

Dear Members & Guests

FISHING COMPETITION IN GOA

Just a quick reminder. We have 2 fishing trips organised during our SJCS Reunion in Goa. One of the trips is a FISHING COMPETITION with just 3 places left.

The second is a social fishing trip with drinks and eats on board and a prize for the most fish caught.

FISHING COMPETITION.

Mervyn Lobo has kindly donated a TROPHY for the one who catches the most fish, and the second donated by Betty de Souza for the one who catches the largest fish.

We have 3 places left for the competition and watch out guys. Karpal is out to try and win both trophies. At the moment he is catching crabs.

How about: Karpa's recent crabbing trip. See his latest catch.

Note for Karpal:- Dont be to confident. We have some hot shots on board who can take in the beers whilst fishing and come up with the big catch. Those wanting to take part in the competition - let me know as soon as possible.

Fishing rules will be posted later. Mervyn, many thanks for your kind donation.

Regards - Benny

Precious Blood Sisters Welfare Fund - update

Dear Jo cc: SJCS Members

Thanks for your message re above and here is a brief explanation regarding the two funds.

With reference to the Nun's Fund that Anthony Antao was responsible, there was good response and money collected towards the Nun's Fund has been forwarded accordingly confirming that the original fund was intended to help them with their 'missionary' work.

This new 'Nuns Welfare Fund' is targeted at their personal needs, as you too have rightfully said, assisting with their health issues etc., and when this fund was introduced by the SJCS Goa Reunion Committee, was also intended towards funding of Sr. Paula's attendance at the reunion.

It is wonderful to learn that Sr. Paula will be attending the reunion (originally intended for two nuns), and to make this possible, we have to arrange her flight, accommodation with meals and hopefully some spending money. In our planning we had not made a request for this funding, nor had set aside reserves and as such, support from our SJCS members would certainly be well appreciated.

We welcome contributions from our SJCS alumni to the Welfare Fund, to cover the needs and welfare of the Precious Blood Sisters and to make it possible for one representative (Sr Paula) to attend the reunion. Some members may wish solely to help out with bringing Sr Paula to the reunion.

We have just made a good start with a cheque for £195 - donated by Lally (Cardozo) McDermott, ex SJCS - towards the Precious Blood Sisters Welfare Fund.

We do not have much time left and cannot set a deadline and as such, contributions received as early as possible would be appreciated.

Your kind support in your message highly appreciated and any plans you have in mind to support this issue would be most welcome.

Wishing you all A Happy New Year

P.S. Contributions to this Fund may be sent by cheque made payable to the appropriate Regional representative as noted below and endorsed on the back "Precious Blood Sisters Welfare Fund".

Please include email address/postal address for acknowledgement.

Regards

Benny
